The Romantic Danube (Wine Cruise) is an eight‑day river journey from Vilshofen, Germany to Budapest, Hungary, highlighting classic Danube destinations with a special focus on Central European wine culture. Guests embark in Vilshofen and cruise to Passau, the “City of Three Rivers,” where guided walking, hiking or cycling excursions explore its Baroque old town. The itinerary continues to Linz, with optional excursions to Salzburg or Český Krumlov.
One of the scenic highlights is sailing through the Strudengau and Wachau Valley, a UNESCO‑listed wine‑growing region known for terraced vineyards and historic villages such as Weissenkirchen, where vineyard visits and tastings are featured. The cruise then spends a full day in Vienna, offering city tours, classical music heritage and visits to wine taverns.
In Bratislava, guests discover Slovakia’s compact capital, framed by medieval streets and its hilltop castle overlooking the Danube. The journey concludes with a full day in Budapest, showcasing grand architecture, thermal baths and panoramic river views.
